Reports to: Senior Production Manager, Exhibition Design and Production


  • Assists in the design and production of exhibitions within MoMA’s robust exhibition program, creating renderings and visualizations that convey design ideas, and construction documents necessary for the fabrication of display spaces and furniture.
  • Works with exhibition designers on simultaneous projects, providing technical support to the design process by assembling materials for the presentation of design ideas, conducting product research, and construction detailing.
  • Assists the senior production manager in managing overall production on multiple simultaneous exhibition and building-related projects.
  • Assists the senior production manager in facilitating the exhibition schedule, interfacing with the exhibition team (including curators, artists, registrars, designers, conservators, carpenters, mechanics, painters, and frame shop) to communicate project schedules and scope.
  • Assists the exhibition designers in managing vendors and contractors in the production of exhibition environments and displays.
  • Maintains database of plans and drawings detailing exhibition design elements and art installation.
  • Any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above


  • Bachelor’s degree in art or a design-related field preferred, and two years experience in exhibition design, architecture, set design, industrial design or fabrication, or art installation
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to efficiently manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to form and maintain successful working relationships with museum staff, designers, and artists
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and other standard office procedures and equipment
  • Knowledge of a 3-D rendering program is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 20th- and 21st-century art is preferred.
