Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to in supporting the Sale Coordinator

  • Support Senior Specialist and organize their travel arrangements
  • Screen telephone, fax and postal enquiries and respond where appropriate
  • Maintain departmental filing and ensure the smooth running of office equipment
  • Manage Expertise, Framing and Restoration needs for sale including quote requests, client communications, status of service requested and related client charges
  • Proactively track receipt of property and follow-up on open issues and missing items

Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to in supporting the Junior Specialist

  • Research property for bibliography, provenance and exhibition history using libraries, online databases, the internet, and outside experts (such as curators, dealers, publishers, etc…)
  • Maintain department library and research materials
  • Coordinator photography and restoration
  • Maintain sale images in media library (monitor progress, liaise with photo studio on missing images, deadline constraints)
  • Greet/visit clients on-site and off-site to support appraisal, consignment and sale efforts

The Candidate

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication
  • Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) 
  • Ability to learn Christie’s systems 
  • Highly collaborative nature
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Superior client service skills
  • Experience with Research Libraries
