Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Services, the Coordinator, Strategic Services is a key member of the team that helps LACMA achieve its long-term strategic fundraising objectives. As the assistant to the Senior Director, Strategic Services, the position works to help ensure good information and project flow across the team. The Coordinator is also instrumental in ensuring timely and accurate processing of Major Donor gifts, including Gifts of Art and gala ticket buyers, and in helping to track and record these gifts for accurate and timely reporting.

Some duties include: prepares gift processing forms, receipts, and customized acknowledgement letters for select major donors; serves as liaison between curatorial departments and Development to ensure curatorial gifts are promptly and properly processed and acknowledged by Development staff as appropriate; tracks and manages art donor welcome packets, following Board of Trustees Acquisitions Committee meeting approvals; ensures that packets are sent to donors within a reasonable turnaround time; tracks gifts of art for accurate reporting, both with the data management team and in any external record keeping systems; supports Strategic Services on vital business functions, including helping the Senior Director on annual departmental budgeting work; helps maintain donor recognition walls, signs, and published donor lists; tracks revenue and coordinates benefit fulfillment for ticket and table buyers for annual galas; partners with Sr. Manager of Gift and Data Processing on gala revenue reconciliation for Finance; works with donors on inquiries about gifts and tribute gifts; assists with administrative support for the department, including managing departmental catalogue orders, and ordering and organizing general department-wide supplies, etc.

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 to 3 years of related experience. Strong writing skills and the ability to effectively present information is essential. Experience in a development or fundraising environment is strongly preferred. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as experience using a constituent management database such as Raiser’s Edge is required.
