Scope of Position: The Senior Marketing Manager reports to and works closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications in the planning, development, management, and delivery of marketing campaigns and activities to help drive revenue, increase brand equity and awareness, and engagement among the DMA’s target audiences. The Senior Marketing Manager measures and reports on the performance of marketing efforts using a variety of tools and methodologies, and proactively assesses strategies to advance Museum’s current marketing in accordance with larger institutional goals.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in developing marketing strategies for a variety of multi-channel, integrated campaigns related to elevating institutional branding and driving earned revenue sources, including special exhibitions, DMA store, DMA cafe, ticketed events, and partnerships or sponsorships with external Arts District or corporate and community partners.
  • Drive processes to conceive, deliver, measure, and optimize campaigns across traditional, digital (display, search, video, email), and social media channels, including the preparation of budgets and media plans.
  • Work in conjunction with in-house creative teams, agency partners, other external vendors to deliver creative assets in accordance with the DMA brand.
  • Maintain systems to measure results of and optimize marketing campaigns, delivering regular reports on marketing performance.
  • Perform data analysis utilizing multiple data sources to analyze DMA attendance and revenue results, visitor information, and campaigns on an as needed basis.
  • Work with in-house evaluator to develop, administer, and analyze online and on-site visitor and audience surveys to gain insights to visitor needs, habits, and experiences at the DMA.
  • Support internal research analyst in forecasting all earned revenue sources for yearly planning purposes.
  • Assist with budget management processes such as obtaining purchase orders, invoicing, and internal reporting for the marketing and communications team.
  • Participate with cross-departmental teams in the evolution of the DMA brand strategy.
  • Support the preparation and organization of meetings and other marketing communications-focused external and internal presentations.

 

Requirements

Education, Experience, and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, major in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing role in a fast-paced office environment
  • Hands-on experience with managing digital marketing activities using a range of platforms and tools including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, AdWords, Facebook Ads Manager, and MailChimp
  • Experience with content management systems WordPress and Drupal, preferred
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge or background in the arts or a cultural institution, preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of media buying and planning practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of campaign development processes, from concept through execution
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience with content management systems, marketing automation, and relationship databases a plus.
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter.
  • Ability to work as part of a departmental and cross-departmental team.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
  • Ability to collect and synthesize data from multiple sources for use in reporting.
  • Strong public and professional interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online tools.
  • Experience working with media, marketing and advertising agencies a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including selected evenings and weekends.
