The National Gallery, London, is seeking a leader with an international reputation in the fields of research, preservation and display of historic painting to lead the newly-combined Directorate of Collections and
Research. The Gallery aims to enhance further its reputation as a leader in the care and research on Old Master paintings and to take forward its ambitions to increase outreach and global engagement.

An excellent communicator (with proficiency in more than one European language), the successful applicant will have an established network of international contacts in museum and academic institutions, be familiar with relevant aspects of the art market and have demonstrable experience of success at a senior level in a major museum.
