Job Description

Tate’s mission is to promote public understanding and enjoyment of British, modern and contemporary art. Everything we do, from the programme we present in our galleries in London, Liverpool and St. Ives, to the work managing our expenditure and engaging suppliers supports this mission. We’re now seeking an experienced and motivated procurement professional to manage procurement across the Tate estate on a 6 month interim basis to cover a sabbatical.

As part of our Finance and Estates division you’ll be acting as the sole procurement presence at Tate, providing advice and support to all stakeholder groups across the organisation in respect of compliance and procurement best practice to ensure that through procurement and commercial arrangements organisational and service objectives best value is achieved.

Being the main point of contact for advice and guidance on procurement strategy and contract needs across the organisation, you will be responsible for assisting in the procurement (and tendering) for minor works, goods and services, and provide dedicated support to senior staff across the organisation in respect of any tendering requirements that may arise.

With experience of public sector procurement and commercially astute, you will have experience leading tendering exercises including those run under the OJEU regulations as well as the implementation of sourcing strategies across a variety of spend areas. You will have experience of negotiating and managing contracts, working in conjunction with Tate’s in-house legal team and other advisors as required. Finally, you will be required to interact and effectively influence key stakeholders across Tate, maintaining collaborative relationships where appropriate.

This appointment is offered on a fixed-term contract to commence on 8 January 2018 and end on 5 July 2018 to cover sabbatical leave. Our jobs are like our galleries, open to all
