Job Description

This influential role offers the chance to make a big impact on Tate’s national and international partnerships. You’ll be representing a world class organisation at senior level, ensuring our national partnerships are managed with creativity and diplomacy. You will be familiar with current cultural policy issues within the cultural sector and enjoy building practical collaborations and exchanges. You will also acquire some unique experience working with inspirational partner organisations across our UK networks.

Tate is responsible for the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day and international modern and contemporary art. We collaborate with a wide range of galleries and museums to enable more people to enjoy the visual arts, to share the national collection and to support professional exchange within the visual arts sector.

Reporting to the Director of National and International Partnerships, you’ll lead and manage Tate’s national partnerships including the Plus Tate network and the British Art Network. You’ll develop ongoing exchanges with other museums and galleries, identifying and prioritising opportunities and projects that will create the greatest long-term impact for audiences across the UK. You’ll also enable information exchange across Tate sites, represent Tate at conferences and sector meetings, and provide updates for Trustees and other groups. The role will entail considerable UK travel.

Educated to degree (or equivalent) level or with relevant knowledge gained through experience, you’ll be a highly successful project and people manager with excellent communication and organisational skills. Your strategic decision-making ability will be complemented by your diplomatic approach and flair for bringing people and ideas together. A high level of IT literacy and experience of budget management will also help you to succeed.
