The 22,000
square foot building, a forme
r auto dealership, has been simply renovated to maintain its historic
character. With its raw, flexible and cavernous spaces, the building is well suited to the exhibition of
contemporary art. Our ambitious series of public programs includes lectures, musi
cal performances, films,
literary readings and educational activities for children.

The Membership
position is responsible for increasing the number of people who
support the
Museum as members at all levels. The position will be working closely with the
evelopment Department and
the Visitor Services Department. This position will also provide development support.
Overall Direction and Coordination of the Membership Growth:
Sets the annual benchmark goals for the budget and for the membership strategy.
Manage the annual Membership budget, including revenue goal setting periodic review of both income
and expenses.
Responsible for up
date maintenance of Museum's database (DonorPerfect) including input of
records, processing gifts, list pulls and report
creation, and staff training, etc. (working closely with
Visitor Services).
Coordinate membership initiatives with all departments.
Establishes the overall strategy and the annual calendar of membership events and programs.
Establishes the strategy and tim
eline for all membership mailings and email communications including
acquisitions, renewals, upgrades, invitations, general communications and annual fund appeals.
Works closely with
Executive Director
and Director of Operations
to coordinate, administer and
document donor relations and activities.
Act as liaison and coordinator for MOCAD’s membership committee of young professionals (New
Wave), the International Advisory Committee (
dvisory and
Responsible for creating
and implementing an internal direct mail and online package appeal for
membership acquisition and upgrades, and annual fund appeals.
Administer systems for maintaining and building the individual membership programs, including
membership levels, acquisitio
n, renewal, upgrade, and annual fund appeals.
Draft all membership materials for approval, including thank you letters, renewals, web content, emails,
appeals and special marketing materials as needed.
Responsible for coordination with Communications Manag
er regarding Museum's internet
publications, membership materials for events and any other marketing needs.

Coordinate the Museum's efforts to promote and increase membership on site at the Museum, as well
as through community outreach and special events.
Works as a team member on a wide range of fundraising and engagement strategies for members and
donors and volunteers.
Actively participate in New Wave, IAC (Advisory and Collecting Group) meetings and activities. Be
MOCAD’s representative for each committ

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Proven membership development/fundraising track record in the non
profit field including:
Increasing membership recruitment and engagement.
Strategies building higher level members
at the $100 to $1,000 levels.
Candidates should have five or more years of experience in museum and/or nonprofit membership or
applicable membership, subscription, loyalty program field, preferably with a focus on member
tion, retention, and
Previous experience working with and driving results from a sophisticated Customer Relationship
Management system (e.g., DonorPerfect).
Demonstrated literacy in MS Word, Excel & Outlook.
Strong writing, editing, and communications skills.
n, creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit, combined with strong project management,
organizational and communication skills are important in this position.
Fluency with digital media platforms including the creation of email, e

Proven track record of cross
