Part-Time DMA Membership Associate

DMA Mission:

Scope of Position:
This position provides part-time sales, customer service, relationship management, and database maintenance support for the Museum. The primary focus of the position is to generate revenues from DMA Members onsite, by email and by phone; provide all members with exceptional customer service by addressing and resolving complaints and inquiries; and assist in the delivery of high quality member experiences that drive Museum engagement and visitation.

Essential Functions:
• Provide excellent customer service to existing and prospective members through various channels of contact including face to face interactions, responding to calls, and answering emails
• Assist with problem solving and able to handle difficult interactions with Members
• Maintain a friendly and welcoming presence during Museum event
• Solicit Museum visitors for membership by fully describing the benefits, building personal relationships and offering approved incentives when appropriate
• Document questions, concerns, and requests of members and prospective members for follow-up
• Ensure that basic membership requests are fulfilled efficiently onsite
• Assist in fulfillment of member benefits
• Oversee specific shared administrative responsibilities as identified by the Director to ensure team tasks are completed as required
• Complete opening and closing procedures including stocking Museum materials, completing reports, updating database, updating phone log, and preparing onsite technology for daily use
• Update existing database with information supplied by members, including Museum gift processing and IT staff as appropriate
• Ensure that data is entered correctly and efficiently entered into the Development database (Raiser’s Edge)
• Maintain onsite presence during the Museum’s hours of operation and work Member related events
• Encourage visitors to join as a DMA member or DMA members to upgrade
• Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally in in writing
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task in high stress situations
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable during ambiguous situations
• Warm, professional, outgoing attitude when dealing with the public
• Calm and patient demeanor when handling difficult interactions
• Ability to frequently stand or walk for periods of up to 4 hours
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Education, Experience, and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• Raiser’s Edge database experience preferred
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred
